Shakti Helmet – Ghost Hunting Tool?

Among the world of paranormal investigators, there is a new ghost hunting tool called the Shakti Helmet (aka “God Helmet”), that has been the topic of debate. While some believe the Shakti Helmet will increase a paranormal investigators perceptive abilities, others state it is a downright disgrace to the ghost hunting community.

The Shakti Helmet is a relatively small, wired head-gear device equipped with magnets that are aligned with specific lobes of the brain. The Shakti Helmet was originally developed with the intention of creating altered states, like mood enhancements, and has proven a beneficial tool for enhanced meditation.

The device uses magnetic fields to carry signals from the brain, which allow the helmet to target certain brain structures believed to be associated with spirituality, thereby inducing an altered state of consciousness. It is this function that causes both negative and positive reactions to the Shakti Helmet from those with an interest in paranormal investigation.

It has already been prove that high levels of EMF (Electromagnetic Field) can induce variable feelings of uneasiness in a human. Ghost hunters often use EM meters not only to detect the presence of paranormal activity, but to debunk the situation as well.

High levels of EMF are generally found around power lines (especially transformers), electrical/fuse boxes and other devices that maintain a high level of electricity. Many locations where people claim to feel uneasy, nauseous, paranoid or as if they are being watched, turn out to be nothing more than an area of the home or building where there are high EMF readings coming from electronic devices.

Because of this, you’ll find plenty of skeptics as to the effectiveness of the Shakti Helmet. If a person is intentionally shooting high EMF levels into their brain, wouldn’t they be more susceptible to these types of feelings, whether there was actual paranormal activity occurring or not?

There is another question as to the safety of applying the Shakti Helmet. It has not been proven, nor disproven, whether the Shakti Helmet is safe to use. There has not been sufficient time for the research into possible long-term side effects from wearing the Shakti Helmet.

In a recent “Lady Vampire” episode of A&E’s “Paranormal State”, lead investigator Ryan Buell donned the Shakti Helmet during a probe of a home in Kyle, Texas. A single mom and her 5 year old daughter claimed to be tormented by a demon they called the “lady vampire”. Ryan was attempting to make contact with the negative spirit by wearing the Shakti Helmet to heighten his senses.

Two significant incidents did occur during the episode. Ryan claimed to have felt a hand grab his ankle, while, at the same time, the 5 year old daughter had a similar experience in a separate room of the home. The second incident was Ryan becoming quite ill. Some have speculated it was the negative spiritual presence that gave Ryan the excessively nauseous feeling, but it is very likely to have come from emission of magnetic energy forced into his brain by the Shakti Helmet.

As the use of the Shakti Helmet progresses in paranormal investigations and more time is aloted for research into the device’s potential side effects, surely we will learn more about the effective nature of “God Helmet”.
