This weekend Ghost Eyes is investigating in and around Gettysburg National Battlefield Park. Our weekend started Friday with a 3 1/2 hour drive that took us 5 hours. Not the best way to start a trip but at least it was a start! Other than the dreadful traffic, the only other spine tingling moment was when this Southern man crossed the Mason Dixon Line.
We are staying at the Best Western in Gettysburg which itself has its own stories of paranormal activity. We arrived just in time for a group dinner including sitting in front of Mark and Carol Nesbitt of the Original Ghost of Gettysburg. Super nice people and we had a great time talking over dinner.
After dinner we headed back to the hotel and grabbed some equipment and off we went to the park. It was around 8pm and the park closes at 10 so we had a couple hours to see if we could get some stories of our own to tell at the next dinner. So we ended up at Spangler’s Spring.
We walked around and took some pictures and did some EVP recordings so will have to wait for to go through those but after the sun went down the personal experiences went up. I cannot say at this time that I had any experiences but someone I trust and who is a pretty who strong skeptic did, my mom.
For those who don’t know Spangler’s Spring is where the famed lady in white is seen. There are a few stories as to why this apparition appears in this area but the prevailing story is she was originally there meeting her married lover. My mom, who knew nothing of this story, happened to catch a glimpse of the lady in white twice in the area.
There was also another prevailing sound that occurred that evening. The sound of a canon firing. Normally at a battlefield you can expect to hear gunfire and possibly even a cannon going of with as many re-enactments taking place throughout this massive park, but this was at 9:30 at night and it is very unlikely that it was something like that.
We ended the evening at the Ghost of Gettysburg house with a private session with psychic. This is the first time I have ever met a true psychic. I am ashamed to admit it but when psychic came up, I got gypsy, séance, table rising visions in my head. Instead I got a lesson on how we all have some sort of psychic ability and had the privilege of meeting a very wonderful person.
Day Two has started – Will update that tomorrow.
