Paranormal Investigation Experiment

Paranormal Investigation: Moon River Brewery

During our investigations we participate in an experiment we called 4 corners. Ray Couch of Southern Ghosts introduced us to this and though it is still in its infant stage, we have had some success using it. During one of these experiments, one of the investigators, Jeremy Morgan, ran a trap camera in the room and what we got on the pictures was very interesting. The pictures are below with an explanation of what he captured.

I usually record the whole session and have gotten Ray on tape explaining the way this experiment works, so with his permission, I will use Ray’s words to help describe what this is all about.

The 4 corners experiment evolved from the rules of a party. You have the life of the party in the middle, people there to just have a good time surrounding them and then the shy ones that stand in the corner and watch everything. The hypothesis here is maybe that is also true with ghosts. We come in during an investigation with all our equipment, recordings and general activity and the ghosts, not wanting to be noticed, may be drawn to the corners.

The basic set up is that one person gets each corner of a room and then one person sits in the middle of the room. The person in the middle sits with both feet on the ground and hands on their knees and waits. Their job is to feel. It could be someone touching their hair; it could be a word popping in their head over and over or maybe an overwhelming emotion.

The job of the people in the 4 corners is to mentally gather the energy around you and focus it to the person in the middle. Imagine you are a pitching machine throwing the energy in the middle; imagine a laser beam of energy coming from you to the person in the middle, rolling a bowling ball of energy to the person in the middle, whatever. The idea is to get the energy out from the corners and into the room.

We recommend that you only do this for about 3-4 minutes at a time.

We have tried a few variations of this with success as well by putting a recorder and a KII meter in the middle as well as someone in the middle doing an EVP session. Now there are some things you must keep in mind however. Most importantly, if for any reason, anyone starts feeling overly uncomfortable stop immediately and walk away for a bit.

Also you want to do this experiment with a few extra people around for a couple reasons. You need someone to keep an eye on everyone and make sure all is going well, someone to time the session and we have someone ask each corner person and the person in the middle what they felt before we openly discuss what happened. This way no one can be swayed by what someone else says and keeps the data we gather a little clearer.

Below are trap camera shots of one of these sessions. The first shot is the end of one experiment, the next shot is Ray walking up to keep time before we actually begin the next one and then the last shot the chair in corner is empty indicating the session is over. We do not see anything physical in the pictures themselves but we found the temperature recorded to be interesting. It is 72 when we start and finish but throughout the actual session the temp falls to 64.

We have a great picture and about 20 EVP’s from Moon River and the Tybee Lighthouse to come in the next few days.  We are currently trying to enhance the audio so that you can hear them well enough from your computer when listening.
