Ouija Boards: What You Need To Know

Ouija boards are surely a subject on which people are divided. For some people, they were a childhood slumber party staple, for others, they are a taboo subject not to be discussed. Anyone who has ever used a Ouija board either in a serious attempt to communicate with the dead or out a unquenchable curiosity has a story to tell about it. We channel entities through Ouija boards, either genuinely through the spirit realm or through our own subconscious imagination, both good and evil, and there are hundreds of stories to prove it. Whether you believe those stories or not is purely up to you.

For as many stories of people being reunited with long deceased love ones through Ouija boards, there are stories of people meeting demonic entities through them. There is no solid evidence to indicate that either situation is entirely possible, but if you decide you would like to partake in a Ouija board session, I would like to offer you some advice. Any time you dabble in the spirit world, you are opening yourself up to situations you may not be capable of handling by yourself. I would like your Ouija board sessions to be as productive, and most of all, safe as possible.

First, approach your Ouija session with a healthy, positive attitude and a clear mind. The board works best with two to three people. Never use the board alone. It is very helpful to have an extra person on the sidelines jotting down questions asked as well as any response the indicator may move to. An answer may not make sense during the session, but will be clarified when studying the notes that were written down. The Ouija is best used in a darkened room lit with candles. Many people like to imagine a white protective light surrounding them and keeping them safe from malicious spirits for the duration of the session. It is best to not ask for a specific entity, rather, allow one to come to you. It is important to be polite to the spirit you are making contact with. If you receive obscene language, threats, or rude comments through the Ouija board, it is important to close the board immediately. To close the board, manually move the indicator the word “Goodbye”, remove your hands, and put the board away. You should do this after each session.

For those of you concerned with the possibility of making contact with an evil entity, I have some advice to keep you safe. Never allow the indicator to leave the board when in use. Never ask a spirit to do anything, such as blow out a candle or prove that it’s real, because you are inviting it to manifest itself. The same goes for if a spirit asks you to perform a certain action. Remain in control at all times and do not bow down to what a spirit asks of you. If the indicator starts to spell any word such as, “devil”, “die”, “evil”, or any similar word, close the board immediately. Do not allow the indicator to perform a figure eight pattern. This is also a way a spirit can manifest itself. Do not allow the spirit to travel through each letter of the alphabet in succession, such as A-B-C-D-E. It is said that this is also a form of manifestation.

Never take an answer you receive on the board seriously. There have been cases of people growing so attached and dependent on Ouija boards that they could not make a decision without consulting one. A Ouija board session can be a fun and enlightening experience for those involved. Whether you believe in their ability to allow the living to communicate with the dead or not, it is important to conduct yourself in a manner to keep yourself safe.
