A Ghosts Perspective – A Ghost Story Part 2 of 3

Elizabeth decided now would be a good time to test the waters and see how things stood. She waited until Valerie was in the bedroom one afternoon and started to make her presence known. Valerie was putting away clothes when she was overcome by this loving peaceful feeling she had never felt before. She sat down by the window and looked out feeling so loved and protected. She wasn’t there long when she noticed a movement from behind her. In the reflection in the window she saw a woman standing in the room with her. She spun around to see who was there and there was no one.

This incident scared her and she flew downstairs and awaited Todd to come home from work. A couple hours later Todd came home and was greeted by an animated wife and something about a woman. After spending 15 minutes calming down Valerie he finally got the whole story. Todd had a paranormal experience and a young teenager and though reluctant to admit to a ghost in the house, he didn’t exactly want to rule out that possibility either. It was an old house with undoubtedly a lot of history.

Valerie however was a little more shaken and took some convincing to go back into the bedroom. Todd told Valerie he would check on some things and see what he could find out. He assured Valerie that the feeling she got right before the encounter was probably the true essence of the person trying to make contact. With a lot of reassuring Valerie finally went to bed that night but sleep for her was hard to come by.

Elizabeth was not sure what to think, she undoubtedly shook up Valerie pretty bad but was somewhat pleased with Todd’s reaction, at least he didn’t freak out and run out never to come back. Elizabeth decided to lay low for a couple weeks and see what happens. Valerie eventually put the incident behind her and with no new activity figured that she may have been seeing things after all.

Todd asked around his customers and soon not only put together the history of the house, but was referred to a physic in town that, after a brief meeting, was willing to come out and see what if any spirit was in the home. Valerie was interested in having a physic come over but by now, with no other activity was convinced that what happened that day was all in her head.
It was a Friday evening after dinner when the physic came over and asked if she could walk through the home by herself. The walk through took about an hour and when the psychic came out, she had a great smile on her face. She told Valerie and Todd that there was a woman present in the home and she was very attached to the property and liked them being there.

She couldn’t pick up a name but was positive in the feeling she got when approached by her, it was a strong caring and affectionate feeling. She got the impression that the woman spirit wanted to stay and that she wouldn’t be a problem. She gave the couple some advice as to how to handle the ghost and Todd and Valerie just stood there not really knowing how to react. They thanked the lady for coming by and walked back to the porch in a daze.

Todd and Valerie talked for a long time that evening. They loved the house, the town was great and they weren’t eager to leave either. Neither had ever felt threatened by whatever was in the house but still, a ghost was something hard to come to terms with. After this discussion, they decided that financial it would take a month or so to be able to move again, so why not give it a shot to try and stay in the house.

Elizabeth was in the door way listening in and so wanted to run up and hug them both but knew that after this evening that was probably not the best action to take. Valerie’s night had been a little stressful to say the least and she decided a hot shower before bed would be just want she needed. Todd heard the water cut off then Valerie immediately yelling for him to come in. Todd came rushing in the door and though both stood there staring at the mirror.

What they saw in the mirror only confirmed for them that this arrangement, though weird in many ways, will work out after all. There in the fog on the window, were the words “Thank You”. It wasn’t long after the first of 4 kids arrived in the home, Valerie not only got use to but started to respect all the unseen motherly advice and Todd and Valerie eventually bought the house they had grown to love so much.

Elizabeth would make herself known here and there by picking up after the kids or making sure the lights were out and doors shut. Occasionally Valerie would catch a glimpse of Elizabeth out the corner of her eye but eventually the activity started to become less frequent and then it was gone for good.

Elizabeth spent many years helping out Valerie around the house and with the kids. She felt needed and enjoyed having the energy of a family around the house again. Eventually Elizabeth realized she had done her job and maybe it was time to move on. No one knows for sure but we would like to think that Elizabeth and Robert are together and somewhere, spending their time together.
