Where are the Ghosts?

Where are the Ghosts?

So you have decided to try your luck at looking for ghosts. You have your basic ghost hunting equipment, done some research on how to conduct an investigation and now you’re ready to go into the field and see what you can find. The next obvious question is where do you go? Where do ghosts hang out?

There are a lot of things to consider before jumping into a location. First and foremost is permission. Secure permission, preferably in writing, to be at the location during the time you are there. Another important step to take is a little research. Find out as much you can as to what people have been feeling or seeing at the location, where the most paranormal activity is coming from and what history about the location could be behind this activity. You could waste a lot of time in the wrong spot without a little upfront information and miss something big in the meantime.

Lastly, no matter where you investigate, no matter what methodology you use, no matter what happens, you need to be professional. Being professional in both action and attire will only add to your credibility but will also give a little credibility to the whole paranormal community. Let’s face it, telling people you are a ghost hunter will get you more than a few funny looks. Being professional and courteous to the living as well as the dead will go a long way in helping you get the results you are looking for.
Here is a list of 10 places you might want to consider when starting your ghost hunting career. We have grouped both outside and inside possibilities together.

  1. Abandoned Hospitals
  2. Old Asylums
  3. Battlefields
  4. Haunted Woods
  5. Old buildings (Warehouses, Mills, Factories)
  6. Bodies of Water (Lakes, ponds)
  7. Schools
  8. Cemeteries
  9. Jails
  10. Haunted tours or walks

We would like to make a suggestion that you should first try and go out on an investigation with a group that has already had some experience if possible. If there is a paranormal investigation group in your area, contact them and see if you can come along on their next investigation so you can get a feel for what to expect.

If this is not possible then make sure your team is fully prepared, have a plan and make sure to be safe.
