You are looking in the wrong places,I was a crew member in B-div.,# 2 fire room. The really creepy areas are the forward evaporator passage way through # 1 and # 2 fire room passage ways and a storage space just down the ladder for # 3 fire room. These places used to creep me the hell out and yes there are ghosts on the Lady Lexington so show them and my ship some respect it is not a place for your amusement so Please treat her and the remaining crew members with dignity and the respect that this fighting ship and her crew that stayed with her so rightly deserve. Sincerely, Jeff Szymecki former Boiler Technician Fireman Erie,Pa.

Jeff,

Thank you for the comments! We agree, you should treat all places with respect and dignity. Even if you are not there for the paranormal, go there for the history and see what men had to endure to give us all what we have today.

Thank You Mr. Szymecki for you great service.

When I was stationed on the Lexington she was home ported in Pensacola,Florida. Now if you ghost hunters think that the Lexington is haunted you really need to check out the old Spanish fort on the Navy base. I don’t remember the name of it but it is well over 300 years old and directly across Escambia Bay is another old Spanish fort and it’s name was changed to Fort Pickens. These forts held a multitude of prisoners from common criminals,to p.o.w.’s from many wars and sorrowfully they also held many of the great native american war chiefs from the plains wars of the mid to late 1800′s. When and if you ever go there you will feel a great and over bearing woe that penetrates you and Do Not Go There At Night, trust me on this one. Hey,Thank You Ghost Writer and your welcome.

To all interested ghost hunters the the old Spanish fort on the Navy base in Pensacola,Fla. is named Fort Barrancas. It is a very cool place to check out be sure to take your camera and you won’t need an e.m.f. detector the hairs on the back of your neck will let you know all you need to. Take a voice recorder because you will hear voices I can all but assure that you will here anything from foot steps, whispers, shouting and at times even crying and screams. But,be very very careful after the sunsets,it does get extremely creepy and active especially in the tunnels. Be careful, have fun and be safe there are snakes and spiders there that can do more harm than the spirits………………..
