Another Experience at Gettysburg Battlefield

As most know who follow us on Facebook and Twitter (links on the bottom right column) we just returned from our first trip this year to Gettysburg. In the upcoming days we will be posting anything we may have gotten in audio or in pictures from the battlefield or engine house we got to investigate. The trip was awesome as usual not only for the investigation aspect but Angie, a Ghost Eyes co-founder got to meet Chip Coffey and got a picture. I think she is still somewhere on Cloud 9.

As customary with us, we like to hit the battlefield first thing in the morning. So even after an eventful and late Friday night, we were walking the Wheatfield at 7am Saturday morning. In the past we have stood atop Little Round Top and heard cannon fire and been at Devils Den and heard gun shots. All unexplained events as the Park Rangers have told us no re-enactment or munitions fire is allowed before 10am.

This Saturday morning, 8 of us braved the 23 degree morning and headed out in separate directions in and around the Wheatfield starting out at the bottom near the Irish Monument. Angie, Jeremy and I head out to the left about half way up to a group of rocks near the wood line. Janet heads right with camera in hand, Chris stays near the cars with Shannon, Brent wonders off with Ray.

When Angie, Jeremy and I get to the rocks we decide to do an EVP session and turn on the H2. Angie’s KII lights up strong and then Jeremy’s follows suite. Encouraged, we hit the record button and begin the session. It was during this time we start to hear a loud male booming voice followed by two younger voices responding coming from over the hill.

During our session Angie commented on the voices and I told her it had to be someone just over the hill yelling. Though I couldn’t make out what was being said, it sounded so close, we thought maybe someone was arguing. Oddly enough my H2 quit recording after 1:04 seconds and the voices were heard by everyone there. Ray drove around the field (one way road all the way around) and saw no one in the area except two older men taking pictures; they said they had heard nothing and we saw no one drive out while Ray searched.

It was a very interesting experience, paranormal? Who knows for sure. Someone could have been there yelling and then ran through the woods before we got around, could have been sound carrying from someone else in the park though the voices we heard echoed. I know we did the best we could to find where the sound emanated from and found nothing. Chalk it up to another interesting morning at the Gettysburg National Park.

Here are the accounts from the people that were there.

There were eight of us walking around the fields all spread out pretty even. Me, Steve and Angie were doing an evp session (we thought anyway) and K2 went off twice and as were doing the evp session. We hear voices pretty loud close to us but we dismiss it and think it was like boy scouts or tours or something not knowing there’s only two people besides us out there. Well voices kept going for a few minutes and Ray jumped in the car to go tell the kids to stop yelling. All 8 people in the group from different distances heard the voices and wasn’t one voice it sounded more like three different ones and one was loud and sounded to be like he was giving out orders or yelling at his troops and then it stopped just as quick as it started after one loud yell.
Jeremy

I was near where the cars were parked. It was a very cold morning and heard at least two people shouting. I looked in the direction of the shouting and saw nothing. The voices stopped but were followed by an owl calling out from the same area. Ray and I drove around the area looking for cars and people but found known. (Ghosteyes Eyes note: The soldiers from Texas who fought in that area where known to yell “woot woot” before charging into battle)
Shannon

While investigating the Wheatfield we heard a strong voice that sounded like someone barking orders followed by younger voices responding. Then what sounded like “woot woot” and then silence. Then I walked down the middle of the Wheatfield while Ray drove around and found no one in the area with us.
Brent

As stated above, Angie and I were with Jeremy doing an EVP session about half way up the field in a set of rocks near the wood line. During our session (which the recorder cut off) we kept hearing voices, one load with two voices answering. It sounded as if it was right over the hill and muffled enough to not be able to make out exactly what was being said. At one point Angie asked about the voices and I said it had to be someone over the hill because it lasted for a few minutes. Angie heard a “woot woot” and dismissed it as possible dogs then we returned to the others and found out everyone heard it as well.
Steve and Angie (Ghost Eyes)

I stayed at the car, it was real cold and I didn’t wonder far. I heard what sound like a man yelling some kind of instructions and periodically getting a reply from two other people. It was never clear as to what was being said. Brent walked by me and seemed to notice it at the same time. I stayed at the car as they all went about looking for the source of the voices. No one drove by me except Ray on his way back around.
Chris

As Steve and friends have already stated, It was another 0′dark thirty morning.  When we arrived at the wheatfield, we all split up.   I went off to the right, and up towards the Pennsylvania and Conneticut monuments. I had taken some pictures last year, I wanted to try and recreate them.   I heard shouting, I looked around to make sure everyone was ok, and proceded to see who was being loud and obnoxious, fully intending to tell them what I thought!!

Right before I crested the hill, the voices stopped.   It sounded like someone shouting “orders”, we got to get this moved, come on, hurry up, hurry up.   Just as suddenly started, it stopped.   Nothing was there.
